Zoning Hearing Board
The Zoning Hearing Board is a quasi-judicial body that hears and renders decisions regarding specific types of land use actions. They conduct zoning hearings such as Variance and Special Exception applications from the restrictions of the Cambridge Township Zoning Ordinance.
The Zoning Hearing Board functions like a court, which consist of five (5) township residents who are appointed by the Board of Supervisors, who serve five-year terms. The Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code (MPC) provides a specific set of rules that must be followed for applications submitted to the Zoning Hearing Board as does the Township's Zoning Ordinance.
The Zoning Hearing Board meets as needed and hearings are open to the public.
